By transferring your previously earned credits, you can earn your online degree faster.
We recognize the time, effort, and expense that you may have already invested in your education. If you have earned credits from a regionally accredited college or university, those credits may be able to be transferred and applied toward your online degree. It can also reduce the overall cost of your Southeastern University education.
For our online undergraduate programs, you can transfer up to 90 credits, and at least 25 percent of a degree’s credits must be completed through SEU. For our online graduate programs, we accept up to nine transfer credits. We do not allow transfer credits for doctoral degrees.
Your enrollment counselor will walk you through the simple credit transfer process. In order to begin the process, you will need to submit official transcripts in sealed envelopes from all regionally accredited institutions previously attended. All credits accepted in the process must be graded a “C” or higher, and these courses will be calculated into your GPA.
Even though SEU accepts transfer credits, you should have your transcripts officially evaluated in order to know which credits will transfer and how they will be transferred. We will gladly evaluate your credits at no cost.
We also accept transfer credits from schools accredited by The Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Credits from nationally accredited or unaccredited institutions are also accepted if an articulation agreement exists. A maximum of 32 credits of nationally accredited course work can be petitioned for through the credit evaluation worksheet.
In addition, transfer credits must also meet age requirements. For undergraduate degrees, any credits for technology courses cannot have been earned more than five years prior to transferring; math credits, 10 years; and science courses, 20 years. Transfer credits for graduate degrees cannot be more than seven years old.
